LIterally. I'm nbot home, no CakeWalk nor Roland here, sometimes it strikes me that I shoudl get into this again. Been going through my being off and on for years. Gotten out of it honestly. And everything I write people always tell me I'm wasteing talent when not writing. Thoughts? Its this little voice the bugs at me in the back of my head. John

Hi John,
do you write lyrics, music, or both? Sometimes it is far better and far more rewarding to colaborate, that's what I tend to do, then you can pool the talents of different people and generally throw ideas around. It depends what type of music you want to write, for 1 instrument, or for many, for a rock band or for an orchestra lol! The approaches do tend to vary but look at colaboration, it's worth it!

Mainly I've used the keyboard, but I have not seen what other instruments look like. I'd be interested in starting something as that would be totilly a new experience for me. No one has yet to put a style to my music as it had many influences. Its been such a long time though. Where do I actually go from here considdedering I do not have access to my keyboard or Cakewalk from this location? Thanks man, John

If your stuck for ideas ect your best to leave it alone and completely divorce yourself from the writing process, then just wait and when inspiration comes be ready" smile... as it seems as if a whole torrent of ideas are coming all at once...good luck mate I know the feeling..

Well, John, I start out my music with poetry, like all those poems I posted on the Writer's Block board with the exception of "I Can't," "Sanity," and "Silence," well, then I try to put music to them with chords on my guitar and vocals, but I do not know how to write or read music. As for having writer's block, just let it come to you. Sometimes, I just mess around on my guitar, and I find something cool, and I make riffs out of it, and then, if I have a poem that needs music, I try to put it together, but very seldomly does it ever go backwards like that; it's usually poem to music, not music to poem. So maybe a little experimentation will help you; I know it helps me. Mel

well lol I haven't come up with a song yet but have play a lot. Maybe you need to find the time, and inspiration to do music. I think this was just about 3 days ago, when I started playing around and then something was sounding so good to me that I started to try to make it in my keyboard; and well I now forgot it but whatever.... you can as many artists do, use your life experiences... I sometimes have heard sons with stupid lirics.... but well
